CONROD, Richard Brenton (Rick)...(Ret'd PO1 - CAF Navy)...passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, June 9th, 2022 in his 74th year. Loving husband for 51 years to Patricia Anne (nee Spence). Proud father of Deanna Vance & her husband Jerimy and Kevin Conrod & his wife Laura. Grampa will be sadly missed by Laura, Brittany and Brent. He is survived by his brothers; Roy Conrod & his wife Mary and Reginald Conrod & his wife Valerie. Predeceased by his parents Richard & Marie Conrod, his sister Lillian Conrod and parents-in-law Arnold & Bette Spence. Rick will be fondly remembered by his many extended family members and friends as a kind man with a great sense of humor.
Born in Nova Scotia, Rick joined the Navy in 1967 and met the love of his life shortly after. Together, Rick and Pat travelled the country from coast to coast, enjoying a 28 year Navy career before switching to public service, working at Warkworth Penitentiary until his retirement. Rick was a kind, quiet soul with a big heart who enjoyed curling, fishing, travelling to PEI every fall, playing cards, reading crime stories, camping, bingo nights with his friends, a good steak and kidney pie, everything Star Trek and most importantly spending time with his beloved family and stumping everyone with his extensive knowledge of random trivia.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kaladeen and Debbie, the PSW's from Care Partners and the Nurses and PSW's from Bayshore for all their loving and respectful care of Rick.
Visitation will be held at Weaver - East, 29 Bay St., Trenton on Thursday June 16th, 2022 from 1-2pm, followed by a memorial service at 2pm. Rick's service will be recorded and available on his website listing at www.weaverfuneralhomes.com.
