Mr. Arthur Joseph Godin, husband of Irene Godin of Beaverbrook Road, passed away Sunday at Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 89. Born in Portage River NB, he was the son of the late Jose & Margaret (St Pierre) Godin. He was a member of L'Ascension Roman Catholic Church, Beaverbrook NB. He was a WW11 Veteran-North Shore Regiment, served Armed Forces 1954-1969, worked as civilian cook in CFB Gagetown 1970 until his retirement in 1981. He is survived by four daughters; Regeanne Groves of Scarborough ON; Julianne Robichaud of Bellefond NB; Lorraine Godin of Ottawa ON; Jenny Godin of Ottawa ON; six sons; John L. Godin of Lr Derby NB; Gerald Godin of Halifax NS; Leonard Godin of Beaverbrook NB; Andrew Godin of Beaverbrook NB, Stanley Godin of Halifax NS; Stephen Godin of Goose Bay Labrador; one sister; Norma Dibblee of Fredericton; 23 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by four children; Richard, Arthur, David & Theresa ; four brothers; Leandre, Norman, Emery and Leonard Godin. Mr. Arthur Joseph Godin will be resting at Davidson's Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, Miramichi, with visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday July 12, at 11 a.m. from L'Ascension Roman Catholic Church, Beaverbrook, with Father Stan Paulin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At the request of the family donations to a memorial of ones choice would be appreciated.
