Passed away 4 December 2023 - age 43
DITCHFIELD, Brian Curtis – Passed away peacefully in his sleep following a brief but an intense battle with cancer on Monday, December 4, 2023 at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre, Brian Curtis Ditchfield, age 43 years.
Predeceased by infant son, Rohan; mother, Pauline (nee Desveaux); and brother, Derek.
Leaving to mourn his loving wife Katherine (nee Cantwell); precious children: Cassandra and Liam; father, James; brother, Kevin; parents-in-law: Clar and Catherine Cantwell; brother-in-law: Clarence Cantwell; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends throughout Canada, whom we all love and remember in our prayers.
Brian spent twenty-two years in the Canadian Armed Forces. That is also where he met his wife while posted to CFB Winnipeg. He served all over Canada and overseas. Brian was beloved by all who met him. He was a humorous man with an easy-going nature and an extreme work ethic. Brian was an excellent friend, father, husband and brother. He always put others first and was a great example to his children being a charitable Christian. He retired three years ago to become a full-time dad and farmer. Brian never stopped working. He also found his faith several years ago. Brian became a devote Catholic, who was very happy participating within his faith community. I am proud to say that these last few years have been some of the happiest years of his life.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road, on Thursday, December 7, from 2-4pm. Funeral Mass will take place from Immaculate Conception Church, Cape Broyle, on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 10:00am, with burial to follow at Our Lady of the Cape Cemetery, Cape Broyle.
As expressions of sympathy, donations in Brian’s memory may be made to a local animal shelter or Servants of Mary Confraternity (1439 Harlem Avenue Berwyn, IL, US 60402).
