Passed away 2 December 2015 - age 78
DEMPSTER, Vaughan Harold of Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 2, 2015 at the age of 78 with his loving wife of 58 years holding his hand and his children at his bedside. Beloved husband of Sheila Mae, loving father of Darrell (Cheryl), Dwight (Jennifer), Carla (Jason) and Derrick (Leslie-Anne). Devoted grandfather of Kara, Brent, Danielle, Mandy, Samantha, Christina, Carter, Liam, Ryan along with Justin and Jake. Dear Brother-in-law of John (Francis-deceased), Angela (Jack), Judy (Elmer), Patricia and step brother of Sylvia Carr. Vaughan will be deeply missed by all those he touched during his lifetime, in particular his grandpuppies Macie and Fenway. Son of the late Harold and Lillian Dempster, and step-mother Marion. Predeceased by his brother Derrill and brother-in-law Dawson.
After retiring from The Royal Canadian Air Force as a Major, Vaughan enjoyed nothing more than to spend quality time with his adoring family. He was an avid hockey fan, enjoyed walks and conversations with his friends at the local coffee shop. A special thank you to the VON, the Palliative Care workers and all of the medical professionals for their care and compassion. In accordance with Vaughan’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held at Oakridge Memorial Gardens at a later date.
