GALLANT, Arthur Matthew, 79, Oromocto, N.B., formerly of Halifax, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2009, in Oromocto Public Hospital. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Matthew and Bessie (Rafuse) Gallant. Arthur had served in the Canadian Armed Forces. He is survived by his son, David Gallant (Linda Hill), Halifax; his daughter, Jo-Ann Morris, Edmonton, Alta.; brothers, Joe Gallant and Tony Gallant; sisters, Betty McManus (Chuck), Truro; Barb Harnish (Ron), Halifax; grandchildren, Nikita, Mitch, Matthew, John and Jennifer, two great-grandchildren, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Ellen Frances (Skerry) in 1991, as well as his parents; brothers, Stan, Edgar, Les, Ron, Gordon, Ken, and Wallace, and sisters, Viola Gow, Margaret Fultz, and Mary Jennicks. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service in memory of Arthur will be held on Monday, November 30, at 1 p.m. in J.A. Walker Funeral Home Chapel, 149 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax, with Rev. Pat Malin as clergy. Interment will take place in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Halifax. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. Art was an Instructor in the school prior to remustering to cook.He was one of the Cpl.Instructors for 73 pl in 1957.He was a Warrent Offtcer Cook when he retired in Gagetown
