Passed away 3 June 2011 - age 79
BELL, Charles Craig "Bud" - 79, Lantz, passed away at home Friday, June 3, 2011, with his family by his side. Born in Halifax he was a son of the late James and Catherine (Perry) Bell. Charles was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a cook in the military and with the Camp Hill Hospital. Charles was a longtime member of the Elmsdale Legion Br. 48. He enjoyed playing cards especially crib and listening to Friday night musicians at the legion.
He is survived by his children Billy (Kathy) Bell, Hamilton, Ont.; Janet (Everett) Tanner, Hardwood Lands; Brenda (Jim) MacKay, Milford; David ( Anita) Bell, Middle Musquodoboit; Ronnie (Sue) Bell, Milford; Bev (Steven) Ashley, Carrolls Corner; Cindy Bell (Basil Mitchell), Musquodoboit Harbour; 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sisters Ede Simpson, Halifax; Eileen Munroe, Halifax; brother-in-law Raymond (Mary) Wilkie, Spryfield; sister-in-law Billie Wilkie, Ottawa; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley (Wilkie) in 2006, brothers Tommy, Campbell, Bill, Hedley, two half-brothers Jim and George, sisters Molly Lawson, Winn Flemming, half-sisters Nell and Ruth.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation 2-4 & 6-8pm with a legion service at 6 pm, Sunday in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, from where funeral service will be held 2 pm, Monday, Rev. Canon David Fletcher officiating assisted by Rev. Patricia McKenna. Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Colchester Branch.
